Tobacco Sales Investigation Leads to ICE Arrest in Choctaw County

An investigation into the illegal sale of tobacco products has resulted in a federal immigration arrest in Choctaw County, Alabama.

On December 10, 2025, Ankit Chaudhary was charged in Choctaw County with selling tobacco and vaping products to a minor. During the course of the investigation, authorities coordinated with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Officials determined that Chaudhary was wanted for overstaying his visa. Following his court appearance in Choctaw County, he was taken into federal custody by ICE agents.
