Officers Injured in Altercation on North Frontage Road

Update- A call was placed to 911 requesting an ambulance in the parking lot of a Walmart in Bonita. When officers and Metro personnel arrived on the scene, the individual involved got back into their vehicle and left the area.

Police followed the vehicle at a speed of just under 20 mph until it came to a stop near a Cricket store just past 18th Avenue on North Frontage Road.

When an officer approached the vehicle, the individual reportedly became combative, leading to a physical altercation. Backup units arrived shortly afterward, and officers were able to gain control of the situation.

Two officers went to a local hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening. (as per policy)
