Neshoba County Sheriff's Office Makes Drug and Firearm Arrest Following Safety Checkpoint
PHILADELPHIA, MS — February 10, 2026
Deputies with the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) made a drug and firearm arrest Tuesday following a safety checkpoint conducted on Deemer Road in Neshoba County.
According to Sheriff Eric Clark, deputies arrested Jeff Bishop Bryan, a 74-year-old white male, during the checkpoint. Bryan is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. The arrest location was reported near RD 505/RD 446 in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
Following the initial arrest, deputies obtained and executed a search warrant at Bryan’s residence located at 10510 Road 779 in the Bond Community.
Evidence Recovered:
During the search, deputies reportedly recovered:
A large amount of methamphetamine believed to be intended for distribution
Drug paraphernalia
A misdemeanor amount of a controlled substance
Six firearms, including one stolen handgun
Authorities stated that Bryan is a convicted felon and is prohibited under Mississippi law from possessing firearms. Bryan was transported to the Neshoba County Detention Center and booked.
Additional Suspect Sought
The Neshoba County Sheriff’s Office is also seeking Jesse Battle, a 36-year-old white male and resident of the same home. Battle is wanted on charges of:
Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Authorities encourage anyone with information regarding Battle’s whereabouts to come forward.
